Violet Aurora was founded in 2010 by editorial director Maya Lindqvist, who left a senior role at a New York publishing house to build something more intimate — a studio where every project received the attention it deserved, not the attention that quarterly revenue targets permitted.
Beginning with a roster of independent authors and a single small publisher, the studio grew steadily through referral. By 2015 we had expanded into brand narrative and content strategy, serving tech companies and nonprofits alongside our publishing clients. Today, our team of twelve senior editors, strategists, and marketing specialists work on 40–50 projects at any given time.
Every client relationship is led by a senior team member. We have no account managers, no junior editors fielding calls. The person who pitches you is the person who works with you.
Start a ConversationFour convictions that shape every project, every client relationship, every manuscript we touch.
Every client works directly with one of our senior team members — never an account manager or junior associate.
We've never raised venture funding, never merged, never opened a second office. We do one thing — help brilliant people tell their stories — and we do it very well, from one room in San Francisco.
Work With UsWhether you have a manuscript, a publishing programme, or a brand story that needs telling — we'd love to hear from you.
